Six Florida places with a haunted reputation and a public door

Private houses and October-only mazes are easy to find in Florida. A place you can walk into on an ordinary week, with a haunting story you can trace to the venue or a news report, is a shorter list.

Private houses and October-only mazes are easy to find in Florida. A place you can walk into on an ordinary week, with a haunting story you can trace to the venue or a news report, is a shorter list. These six made the cut. The Tampa Theatre and the Henry B. Plant Museum are in Tampa. The Florida Theatre is in Jacksonville. The Olympia Theater is in Miami. The Vinoy is in St. Petersburg. The Old Jail is in St. Augustine. All six are real buildings with a public door. The ghost parts are labeled as what Jill Witecki told WUSF, what Lindsay Huban told The Minaret, what Numa Saisselin told WJCT News and what he and Chrissy Sellers told News4Jax, what Jeannie Piazza-Zuniga wrote in the Miami Herald, what Steve Cishek wrote as NBC 6 printed it, or what Stephen Mitchell told ClickOrlando. None of this is a claim that a spirit has been proved.

Schedules move. Phone numbers and hours below are what those sites posted when this was researched in October 2026. Check before you go.

Tampa Theatre, Tampa

The Tampa Theatre will sell you a ticket, and the contact page says the box office is open on weekdays. The contact page, read in October 2026, does not print Jill Witecki, an agreement, or a projection-booth door. Witecki, "vice president of marketing," told Steve Newborn and Daylina Miller, in a WUSF story published October 24, 2023, at 6:00 a.m. EDT, that she has an agreement with the ghosts in the building.

The address does not sit on one line. The know-before page prints "711 N Franklin Street, Tampa, FL 33602." The contact page prints "711 N Franklin Street" and, in the footer, "711 N Franklin St. Tampa, FL 33602." Street, and St., are both on the site. The Commons description of the night frame I saved says "711 Franklin Street Tampa." That line has no N. The frame itself does not print 711. The visit line uses 711 N Franklin Street, the know-before line I opened.

The phones do not sit on one extension. The know-before page and the contact page print the box office as (813) 274-8286. I did not save a tel: href. A download of the contact HTML came back as a captcha redirect, not the page. The staff page I opened in October 2026 prints Jill Witecki as "Vice President, Director of Marketing & Community Relations" at (813) 274-8287. The same page prints Cathy Prance, "Vice President, Director of Operations," at (813) 274-8286. 8286, and 8287, are not the same extension. The box-office digits and Prance's direct line are the same digits. The visit line uses 8286, the box-office number on the contact page. It does not use 8287. The know-before ticketing block prints gargoyles@tampatheatre.org. The staff page prints more direct lines. I am not turning the visit line into that directory.

The hours match on the weekday open and not on the word "at least." The know-before page prints weekdays from "10:00am Monday-Friday" until "30 minutes after the last show of the day begins," and it says evenings and weekends the box office "opens at least 30 minutes before the first show." The contact page prints "Weekdays: 10:00am until 30 min. after the last show of the day begins" and "Weekends: 30 min. before the first show of the day until 30 min. after the last show begins." "At least 30 minutes," and "30 min.," are not the same instruction. October 4, 2026, is a Sunday. Sunday uses the weekend line. I did not open that Sunday's show list, so I do not have a clock for the first show. The contact form note says the mailbox is monitored "Monday - Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm." That is an email clock. It is not the window.

Witecki's account on the October 24, 2023, page is what she says she arranged, not a finding that a spirit has been proved. She says, "Us — the ghosts and I. I will tell their stories faithfully. I will do my best to honor their memory," and "they will leave me alone." The page says she "has had two encounters of the unexplained kind" and that she was not scared. The title on that page is vice president of marketing. The 2026 staff page adds "Director of Marketing & Community Relations." I opened both. I am not treating the 2023 title as the 2026 line. The same WUSF page has her telling a tour that a projectionist called her boss because a booth door would not open, and that the boss told Caitlyn there is no lock on that door. Witecki's retelling includes a sentence in Caitlyn's voice that uses a contraction I am not reprinting. Caitlyn is a story Witecki tells. She is not Witecki's own encounter. Robert Lanier, in 1959, is the one death Witecki points to on that tour. She did not say she saw him. I did not open the FOX 13 page. I am not using it.

Visit: 711 N Franklin Street, Tampa, FL 33602. Box office (813) 274-8286. I did not save a tel: href. Witecki's staff line prints (813) 274-8287. Prance's line prints the box-office digits. gargoyles@tampatheatre.org. The frame does not print 711. tampatheatre.org. Contact page, checked in October 2026: weekdays from 10 a.m. until 30 minutes after the last show begins. Weekends, 30 minutes before the first show. The know-before page says at least 30 minutes. October 4, 2026, is a Sunday. I did not open that Sunday's list. Witecki's agreement is Newborn and Miller, WUSF, October 24, 2023, 6:00 a.m. EDT. The contact page does not print it.

Tampa Theatre in Tampa, the night front, the vertical sign reading TAMPA, the marquee, and the doors under the lights
Tampa Theatre and the TAMPA sign, MarieG33. The file page author line says MarieG33. The downloaded JPEG has no Artist field. I did not open a user page that gives another name. The downloaded JPEG's DateTimeOriginal is 2013-09-29 17:58:34, with subseconds 50, which is 5:58 p.m. The file page summary says the photograph was taken on 29 September 2013, 17:58:34. The JPEG matches that clock and adds the subseconds. Neither the file nor the file page summary prints a time zone. The JPEG's DateTime, the file-change clock, is 2013-09-30 12:12:26. License: CC BY-SA 3.0. Credit is required. Share-alike applies. The Commons original is 2,592 by 3,872 pixels. Original file: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bc/Tampa_Theatre_2013.jpg . The file on this page is 803 by 1,200. It was not upscaled. The hero, florida-haunted-houses.jpg, is this same September 29, 2013, frame. The description says "Tampa Theatre, 711 Franklin Street Tampa." The subject is the night front, the vertical sign reading TAMPA, the marquee, and the doors under the lights. Those doors are the street doors in this frame. The frame does not print 711. The marquee in this frame reads WELCOME, more than once, and a center panel welcomes friends of music. That board is a September 29, 2013, board. It is not an October 2026 show title. Crop to the board and you have left the doors. The cars at the curb are not the theatre. Crop to the cars and you have left the doors. The people under the marquee are not the sign. The trees, the palm, and the brick street are not the theatre. The September 29, 2013, front is the one with the TAMPA blade and the marquee in the same frame. Use that. The frame is a night exposure from 2013. It is not the projection booth, and it is not Witecki's agreement.

Henry B. Plant Museum, Tampa

The Henry B. Plant Museum will let you walk the rooms of the old hotel, and the homepage says the door is open on Sunday. The homepage, read in October 2026, does not print Lindsay Huban, a mirror, or a faster walk. Huban, "Museum Relations Manager," told Anisa Brown, in a Minaret story dated October 25, 2018, that she has caught herself moving faster and looking again when she is in the building alone.

The phone does not sit on one target. The homepage prints the museum digits with dots and no parentheses, and a target tel:8132541891. The target has no plus and no parentheses. The 2018 Minaret page prints a different number with hyphens and no parentheses. 254-1891, and 258-7302, are not the same number. The visit line uses (813) 254-1891, the ten digits on the homepage I opened in October 2026. It does not use tel:8132541891, and it does not use (813) 258-7302.

The address on the homepage is "401 W. Kennedy Boulevard Tampa, FL 33606." I did not open a second street number. The visit line uses that line.

The hours do not match across the blocks on that homepage. The header source prints Monday "Closed," Tuesday through Friday "10 am - 5 pm," Saturday "Closed," Sunday "12 pm - 5 pm," and a holiday line "Closed Today." The footer hours list prints "Monday: Closed," "Tuesday - Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm," "Sunday: Noon - 5 pm," and "Closed: Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Gasparilla Invasion and Parade of Pirates." Saturday closed, and Saturday open until 5, are not the same door. "12 pm," and "Noon," are the same Sunday clock in different words. "Closed Today," and a named holiday list, are not the same sentence. October 4, 2026, is a Sunday. It is not one of the named holidays in the footer list. Both Sunday lines put the door at noon to 5 p.m. I saved the HTML. I did not open it in a browser, so I did not see which Saturday line, or which holiday line, is the one on screen. I did not open a ticket price.

Huban's account is what she told Brown, not a finding that a spirit has been proved. She says visitors ask whether the building is haunted, and that staff built a Halloween event because of that question. One sentence of hers uses a word I am not reprinting. She says, "Given the age of the building, it seems almost impossible for there not to be any spirits hanging around." She says, "I know there have been times when I've caught myself walking a little more quickly or doing double takes in mirrors when I'm here by myself." A faster walk and a second look are not a figure she says she saw. The 2026 homepage does not print Huban. I did not open a later interview.

Visit: 401 W. Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33606. (813) 254-1891. The site target is tel:8132541891. The 2018 story prints (813) 258-7302. plantmuseum.com. Homepage, checked in October 2026: footer hours Monday closed, Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m., plus the named holiday closures. Header source: Saturday closed, Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and a line that reads "Closed Today." October 4, 2026, is a Sunday, so both Sunday lines put the door at noon to 5 p.m. Huban's mirrors are Brown, The Minaret, October 25, 2018. She did not say she saw a figure. The homepage does not print Huban.

Henry B. Plant Museum in Tampa, the long brick front, the minarets, and the wings of the old hotel
Plant Hall and the minarets, ARTtography on the file-page author line. The downloaded JPEG's Artist field is DAVID_B_KAWCHAK, and the Copyright field is DAVID_B_KAWCHAK. ARTtography, and DAVID_B_KAWCHAK, are not the same string. I did not open a user page that says they are the same person. The downloaded JPEG's DateTimeOriginal is 2022-01-17 10:23:02, which is 10:23 a.m. The file page summary says "2022-01-17 10:23:02." The JPEG matches that clock. It does not add subseconds. Neither the file nor the file page summary prints a time zone. The JPEG's DateTime, the file-change clock, is 2023-10-15 16:18:03. The JPEG also carries a GPS time stamp of 14:23:02, with no date on that stamp. I am not treating the GPS stamp as the local clock. License: CC BY-SA 4.0. Credit is required. Share-alike applies. The Commons original is 6,362 by 4,238 pixels. Original file: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/39/University_of_Tampa_Henry_B._Plant_Museum.jpg . The file on this page is 1,200 by 799. It was not upscaled. The description says the University of Tampa is home to the Henry B. Plant Museum, built in 1891 as the Tampa Bay Hotel. The subject is the long brick front, the minarets, and the wings of the old hotel. That front is the building in this frame. The frame does not print 401, and it does not print the words Henry B. Plant Museum. The parking lot in the foreground is not the museum. Crop to the lot and you have left the facade. The lawn, the trees, and the lamp are not the door. A glass tower at the left is a different building. Crop to that tower and you have left the hotel. The black gate at the right edge is not the museum. The January 17, 2022, front is the one the description names as the museum's building. Use that. The frame is 2022. It is not a mirror, and it is not Huban walking the hall.

Florida Theatre, Jacksonville

The Florida Theatre will sell you a ticket, and the FAQ page says the box office is open Monday through Friday. The FAQ page, read in October 2026, does not print Numa Saisselin, a balcony seat, or a ghost named J. Saisselin, "Florida Theatre President," told Bill Bortzfield, in a WJCT News story published December 1, 2020, at 4:51 p.m. EST, that the house kept two seats so the ghost would not be left without them.

The address does not sit on one suite. The contact page prints "Florida Theatre 128 East Forsyth Street Jacksonville, FL 32202" and, lower down, "128 East Forsyth Street, Suite 300." The FAQ page prints the box office "at 128 E. Forsyth Street" and charity mail to "128 East Forsyth Street, Suite 300." Street, and E., are both on the site. Suite 300 is on the admin and charity lines. It is the same door number. The history page I opened prints the corner of Forsyth and Newnan and does not print a different door number. I did not open a page that prints 148. The visit line uses 128 East Forsyth Street.

The phones do not sit on one line, and two of them sit on the same digits. The contact page prints the administrative office as (904) 355-5661 and the box office as (904) 355-2787, with parentheses. The footer on the contact page, the FAQ page, and the history page prints those same two numbers with parentheses and no space after the area code, and it prints the box-office digits again as the fax. The fax and the box office are the same ten digits on that footer. 5661, and 2787, are not the same extension. The FAQ also prints the box-office digits with hyphens, with dots, as 904.355.ARTS with the last four digits in parentheses, and with a hyphen after the area code. Those are (904) 355-2787 in different type. Membership, on the contact page, is Wendy Havens at (904) 562-5995. Rentals, on the FAQ page, are (904) 562-5968. 5995, and 5968, are not 2787. I did not save a tel: href. A download of the contact HTML returned 406, not the page. The visit line uses the box-office digits with an ordinary +1 link. The emails on the contact page are admin@floridatheatre.com and boxoffice@floridatheatre.com.

The hours on the FAQ page are "9 AM-5 PM, Monday-Friday," plus "4 hours before showtime for evening performances and 2 hours before matinee performances." Nine to five, and the pre-show window, are both on the page. They are two clocks for one visit. Sunday is not on the Monday-through-Friday line. October 4, 2026, is a Sunday. A walk-in that day depends on a show I did not confirm. I did not open that Sunday's list. I did not open a 2026 staff page that still calls Saisselin president.

Saisselin's email, as WJCT printed it, is his decision about a seat, not a finding that a spirit has been proved. He says, "We did not want our ghost to be homeless if his or her seat went away permanently. They are the only two seats being restored. Every other seat is being replaced." The seats are Section 500, Row E, Seat 2, and the companion chair, Seat 1. Aaron Farrar's News4Jax story, published October 28, 2021, at 8:39 a.m. and updated at 9:30 a.m., does not print a time zone. On that page Saisselin says, "We think if this is true, that he might have been a former building engineer," and that Joe Collier "is still working here." The same page says Saisselin has not seen the ghost himself. Chrissy Sellers, "News4Jax promotions manager," says of a video she shot about ten years earlier, "It sounded like the seat was moving a little," and "I think it kind of looks like he's waving at us." Sellers is a second witness on a second page. She is not the 2020 email. A theory on the 2021 page names Joseph Hilton, an organist. The theatre history page I opened names Bender A. "Dock" Cawthon as a projectionist. Hilton, and Cawthon, are not the same person, and I did not open a death record. The history page also reprints Jill Cook-Richards, from a 1997 television production, saying a presence wanted to be called J. Her line on that page uses a contraction I am not reprinting. The history page reprints Saundra Floyd, from a 2001 Daily Record interview, on a school tour and a light. Floyd's last sentence on that reprint uses a contraction I am not reprinting. I opened the history page. I did not open the 1997 broadcast, and I did not open the 2001 Daily Record page. I am not writing those older pieces as if I had.

Visit: 128 East Forsyth Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202. The suite line prints Suite 300. Box office (904) 355-2787. Administration (904) 355-5661. The footer prints the box-office digits again as the fax. I did not save a tel: href. Membership (904) 562-5995. Rentals (904) 562-5968. boxoffice@floridatheatre.com. floridatheatre.com. FAQ page, checked in October 2026: box office Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it opens four hours before an evening show and two hours before a matinee. October 4, 2026, is a Sunday. I did not open that Sunday's list. Saisselin's two seats are Bortzfield, WJCT News, December 1, 2020, 4:51 p.m. EST. Sellers's wave is Farrar, News4Jax, October 28, 2021. The FAQ page does not print either one.

Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, the brick front, the script sign reading Florida, the lighted welcome line, and the doors under the board
Florida Theatre and the Florida marquee, bubba73 on the file-page author line. The downloaded JPEG's Artist field is "Judson McCranie, jud@judmccranie.com," and the Copyright field is Judson McCranie. bubba73, and Judson McCranie, are both tied to this file. I did not open a user page that says they are the same person. The downloaded JPEG's DateTimeOriginal is 2016-05-01 14:43:28, with subseconds 10, which is 2:43 p.m. The file page summary says "1 May 2016, 14:43" and does not print the seconds. The JPEG adds the seconds and the subseconds. Neither the file nor the file page summary prints a time zone. The JPEG's DateTime, the file-change clock, is 2016-05-01 20:04:54. License: CC BY-SA 3.0. Credit is required. Share-alike applies. The Commons original is 6,000 by 4,000 pixels. Original file: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/91/Florida_Theatre%2C_Jacksonville%2C_FL%2C_U.S..jpg . The file on this page is 1,200 by 800. It was not upscaled. The description says "The Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S." The subject is the brick front, the script sign reading Florida, the lighted line reading WELCOME TO THE FLORIDA THEATRE, and the doors under that board. Those doors are the street doors in this frame. The frame does not print 128. The lighted line is a May 1, 2016, board. It is not an October 2026 show title. Crop to the board and you have left the doors. Crop to the script and you have left the doors. The tiled windows are the facade. They are not the balcony seat. The May 1, 2016, front is the one the description names as the Florida Theatre. Use that. The frame is 2016. It is not Section 500, and it is not a waving figure.

Olympia Theater, Miami

The Olympia Theater will sell a ticket of a kind, and the City of Miami page says the building currently holds an exhibit. The city page, read in October 2026, does not print Jeannie Piazza-Zuniga, a balcony foyer, or a band of light. Piazza-Zuniga wrote, in a Miami Herald story dated January 6, 2016, at 6:45 p.m., that she saw a swath of light move through the theatre after her boss left her there. The page does not print a time zone.

The name does not sit on one spelling. The city page prints "Olympia Theater." The Herald piece prints "Olympia Theater" and "The Olympia Theater again." The Florida Theatre history page prints "the Olympia in Miami" and "Olympia Theatre." Theater, and Theatre, are both in print on pages I opened. The marquee in the Commons frame reads OLYMPIA. The visit line uses Olympia Theater, the words on the city page.

The address on the city page is "174 East Flagler Street, Miami 33131-1130." Olympia Arts prints its own office at "153 E. Flagler St., #1030," which is not the theatre door. The visit line uses 174 East Flagler Street. The frame does not print 174.

The phones do not sit on one number. The city page prints (786) 991-9008 and Olympia@miamigov.com. I did not save a tel: href. A download of that page returned 403, not the HTML. Olympia Arts, which says it no longer manages the theatre, prints Yunior Santana at the same email and (305) 575-5057. The same Arts page prints Van Gogh booking at (305) 833-9057 and mario@exhibitionhub.com. The city page prints Van Gogh questions to gmmiami@exhibitionhub.com. 991-9008, 575-5057, and 833-9057 are not the same number. The city footer prints "311" and (305) 468-5900 at "444 SW 2nd Ave," which is city hall, not the theatre. The white canopy in the Commons frame prints URBAN UMBRELLA, the digits (646) 709-7276, and urbanumbrella.com. (646) 709-7276 is not (786) 991-9008. The visit line uses (786) 991-9008, the number on the city page. It does not use the canopy number.

The hours do not sit on a clock, because the city page does not print one. It says the theatre "currently houses" a Van Gogh exhibit and sends tickets to Fever. I did not open Fever, so I do not have a price or an hour from that seller. The same page says, "We are not accepting any new events or applications for the Olympia Theater until 2025." The footer on that page reads "© 2026 City of Miami." A stop date of 2025, and a copyright line of 2026, are both on the page I opened. "Suitable for: Concerts & Plays" is also on that page. I did not open a show list for October 4, 2026. October 4 is a Sunday. Sunday is not a printed closed day, because no weekday line is printed at all.

Piazza-Zuniga's account is what she wrote, not a finding that a spirit has been proved. She says she started the job on December 26, 1984, and that the work ran about twenty years. She does not date the afternoon. Her boss, who is not named, told her not to forget a Saturday feeding for a dance company. I am not reprinting his contraction. She writes that she ran to the stairs, saw him leave through the alley door, and then "a swath of light floated through the chandeliered balcony foyer making its way up the stairs to the mezzanine." She writes, "I looked for reflections from Second Avenue traffic but there were none." She writes, "I saw the spirit that floats through our theater. I never saw it again." The 2026 city page does not print her.

Visit: 174 East Flagler Street, Miami 33131-1130, the city page. (786) 991-9008. I did not save a tel: href. Olympia@miamigov.com. Olympia Arts prints (305) 575-5057 for the same email. Van Gogh booking on the Arts page prints (305) 833-9057. The canopy in the frame prints (646) 709-7276. miami.gov. City page, checked in October 2026: a Van Gogh exhibit is the current ticket, through Fever, which I did not open. The page also says it is not accepting new events until 2025, under a 2026 copyright line. No box-office hour is printed. Piazza-Zuniga's light is the Miami Herald, January 6, 2016, 6:45 p.m. The city page does not print her.

Olympia Theater in Miami, the brick front, the marquee reading OLYMPIA, the ticket booth, and the doors behind the booth
Olympia Theater and the OLYMPIA marquee, Phillip Pessar. The file page author line says Phillip Pessar. The downloaded JPEG has no Artist field. The downloaded JPEG's DateTimeOriginal is 2024-06-25 10:27:19, with subseconds 98, which is 10:27 a.m. The file page summary says "2024-06-25 10:27:19." The JPEG matches that clock and adds the subseconds. Neither the file nor the file page summary prints a time zone. License: CC BY 2.0. Credit is required. Share-alike does not apply. The Commons original is 3,572 by 2,679 pixels. Original file: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ec/Olympia_Theater_Downtown_Miami.jpg . The file on this page is 1,200 by 900. It was not upscaled. The description says "Olympia Theater, Downtown Miami Florida." The subject is the brick front, the marquee reading OLYMPIA, the ticket booth, and the doors behind the booth. Those doors are the street doors in this frame. The frame does not print 174. The letter board under OLYMPIA is blank in this June 25, 2024, frame. It is not an October 2026 show title. Crop to the blank board and you have left the doors. The white canopy prints URBAN UMBRELLA and a phone that is not the city number. Crop to the canopy and you have left the marquee. The ticket booth carries posters and codes. Crop to the booth and you have left the doors. The palm, the sidewalk, and the trash can are not the theatre. The June 25, 2024, front is the one the description names as the Olympia Theater. Use that. The frame is 2024. It is not the balcony foyer, and it is not a band of light.

The Vinoy, St. Petersburg

The Vinoy will book you a room, and the resort site prints a phone and a street address. The site, read in October 2026, does not print Steve Cishek, a sleepless night, or a haunted room. Cishek, a Marlins relief pitcher, wrote that his room was haunted, as David Hill printed it in an NBC 6 story published June 17, 2011, and updated that day at 12:33 p.m. The page does not print a time zone.

The name does not sit on one line. The resort site prints "The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club, Autograph Collection." The copyright line prints the same name and "© 2025." Hill's NBC story says, citing the Marlins blog Fish Stripes, that the team stays at the "Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club." I did not open Fish Stripes. Gus Garcia-Roberts, in a Miami New Times story dated June 24, 2011, prints "Vinoy Renaissance" and "The Vinoy" in his own sentences, and he attributes a noise report to USA Today. I did not open USA Today. The Commons description of the frame I saved prints "Vinoy Renaissance Resort and Golf Club" and also "Vinoy Park Hotel." Renaissance, Autograph Collection, and Vinoy Park Hotel are not the same name. The visit line uses The Vinoy, the short name on the 2026 site, and the longer name The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club when the sentence needs it.

The address does not sit on one spelling, and one address is not the hotel door. The copyright line prints "501 5th Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701." The Commons description prints "501 5th Avenue NE." Ave, and Avenue, are both in print. The Marriott overview I opened prints the golf club at "600 Snell Isle Boulevard NE, St. Petersburg, Florida, USA, 33704." 501, and 600, are not the same door. 33701, and 33704, are not the same ZIP. The visit line uses 501 5th Ave NE, the copyright line. The frame does not print 501.

The phones do not sit on one number. The resort site prints (727) 894-1000 with a plus, a leading 1, and hyphens, and no parentheses, and Vinoy.Info@TheVinoy.com. I did not save a tel: href. The mailto target is mailto:Vinoy.Info@TheVinoy.com. The Marriott page prints the spa at (727) 824-8070 and the golf club at (727) 896-8000, each with a plus, a leading 1, and hyphens, and no parentheses. 894-1000, 824-8070, and 896-8000 are not the same extension. The visit line uses 894-1000. The resort site says the property is cashless. I am not reprinting the adverb on that sentence.

The hours I opened are not a front-desk clock. The resort site does not print a lobby hour or a closed day. The Marriott page prints spa hours, golf from "7am to dusk," a pool from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a fitness room "24 hours a day." Those clocks are not the front door. October 4, 2026, is a Sunday. Sunday is not printed as closed, because the hotel page does not print a closed day at all. I did not open a reservation for that night.

Cishek's line on the June 17, 2011, page is a tweet Hill quotes, not a finding that a spirit has been proved. I did not open the tweet. Hill prints a coarser clause, then a line that Cishek could not sleep, then "My room is def haunted." I am not using the coarser clause. "def" is the spelling on the NBC page. Hill writes that the team was in Tampa to play the Rays, and that Fish Stripes is the source for the hotel name. The hotel name in that sentence is a blog I did not open. The New Times page, which I did open, states in the writer's voice that the Marlins were at the Vinoy Renaissance, and then retells a chapter of the book Haunted Baseball. I did not open the book. I am not writing Scott Williamson, or the other players in that retelling, as if I had opened their interviews. The New Times writer says he called the hotel and spoke to Rosie, a sales executive, who "said she would get call us back" and did not. Rosie did not give a ghost account on the page I opened. The 2026 resort site does not print Cishek.

Visit: 501 5th Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701, the copyright line. The Commons description prints 501 5th Avenue NE. Golf on the Marriott page is 600 Snell Isle Boulevard NE, ZIP 33704. (727) 894-1000. I did not save a tel: href. Spa (727) 824-8070. Golf (727) 896-8000. Vinoy.Info@TheVinoy.com. thevinoy.com. Resort site, checked in October 2026: a room can be booked. No lobby hour is printed. The footer year on that page is 2025. Cishek's room is Hill, NBC 6, June 17, 2011, 12:33 p.m., with no zone printed. The hotel name on that page is attributed to Fish Stripes, which I did not open. The New Times page of June 24, 2011, names the Vinoy in the writer's own sentence. The resort site does not print Cishek.

The Vinoy in St. Petersburg, the pink hotel, the tower, and the long waterfront front
The Vinoy from the water, Beyond My Ken. The file page author line says Beyond My Ken. The downloaded JPEG has no Artist field. The downloaded JPEG's DateTimeOriginal is 2021-12-28 15:23:28, with subseconds 892, and OffsetTimeOriginal -05:00, which is 3:23 p.m. at UTC-5, 2:23 p.m. CT. The file page summary says "2021-12-28" and does not print the clock. The JPEG adds the clock, the subseconds, and the offset. The JPEG's DateTime, the file-change clock, is 2022-02-22 01:16:50, with OffsetTime -05:00. License: CC BY-SA 4.0. Credit is required. Share-alike applies. The Commons original is 3,915 by 2,199 pixels. Original file: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b3/2021_Vinoy_Renaissance_Resort%2C_St._Petersburg.jpg . The file on this page is 1,200 by 674. It was not upscaled. The description calls the building the Vinoy Renaissance Resort and Golf Club at 501 5th Avenue NE, and it also says the 1925 building was listed as the Vinoy Park Hotel. The subject is the pink hotel, the tower, and the long waterfront front. That front is the hotel in this frame. The frame does not print 501. The yachts, the docks, and the water are not the hotel. Crop to a yacht and you have left the tower. The palms along the seawall are not the door. The December 28, 2021, front is the one the description names as the resort. Use that. The frame is 2021. It is not a guest room, and it is not Cishek's night.

Old Jail, St. Augustine

The Old Jail will walk you through the cells on a daytime tour, and the tours page says the door is open from the morning into the afternoon. The tours page, read in October 2026, does not print Stephen Mitchell, a staircase, or a push. Mitchell, "with Historic Tours of America," told Ginger Gadsden, in a ClickOrlando story published October 21, 2022, at 5:57 p.m. and updated October 25, 2022, at 5:41 p.m., that something pushed him back down the stairs. The page does not print a time zone.

The address does not sit on one spelling. The contact page prints "167 San Marco Avenue St. Augustine, FL 32084." The tours page prints "167 San Marco Ave. St. Augustine, FL" on the location line and "167 San Marco Avenue St. Augustine, FL 32084" lower down. Ave., and Avenue, are both on the site. The ZIP is on the address block. It is not on the short location line. Gadsden's story says the jail is "on San Marcos Avenue, just north of downtown." San Marco, and San Marcos, are not the same street name. Her page does not print 167. The visit line uses 167 San Marco Avenue, the contact page I opened in October 2026.

The phones do not sit on one number. The contact page prints customer service as (904) 578-7657 with hyphens and no parentheses, and a target tel:9045787657. The target has no plus and no parentheses. The same page prints e-ticket assistance as (800) 844-7601 with a leading 1 and hyphens. I did not save a tel: href on that line. 578-7657, and 844-7601, are not the same number. The visit line uses the customer-service digits with an ordinary +1 link. It does not use tel:9045787657.

The hours on the tours page are "9:00 am – 4:30 pm," with tours "every 15 minutes beginning at 9:00 am." The same page prints "Tours offered until 3:00 pm on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas Day." Nine to 4:30, and until 3 on those three days, are both on the page. They are two clocks. The page does not print a closed Sunday. October 4, 2026, is a Sunday, and it is not Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day. The printed daytime door that day is 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mitchell's 2022 page says people are in the building "from midnight until two o'clock" looking for ghosts. Midnight, and 9 a.m., are not the same door. The 2026 tours page does not print that midnight window. I am not treating a 2022 night investigation as the October 2026 daytime clock.

Mitchell's account is what he told Gadsden, not a finding that a spirit has been proved. He says, "in that building something happens at least once every 24 hours that nobody can explain." He says, "It is truly and certifiably, incredibly haunted." "Certifiably" is his word. I am not using it as a checked fact. He says, "If these walls could talk, they would scream." He describes a push: "I was going up the staircase, it was late in the day and all of a sudden I was stopped. I could feel that push right on my chest as it pushed me backward right back down the stairs." He says he was not hurt and did not fall the whole way. I am not reprinting the contractions in that last pair of sentences. He also describes a figure he calls "The Crawler." The Crawler is a second story on the same page. He does not say the push was the Crawler. The 2026 tours page does not print Mitchell.

Visit: 167 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, FL 32084. The tours page also prints 167 San Marco Ave. Gadsden prints San Marcos Avenue, with no number. (904) 578-7657. The site target is tel:9045787657. E-ticket (800) 844-7601. I did not save a tel: href on that line. staugustineoldjail.com. Tours page, checked in October 2026: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., every 15 minutes from 9 a.m., until 3 p.m. on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve, closed Christmas Day. October 4, 2026, is a Sunday, and Sunday is not on the closed list. Mitchell's push is Gadsden, ClickOrlando, October 21, 2022, 5:57 p.m. The tours page does not print him.

Old Jail in St. Augustine, the stucco jail, the barred windows, and the outside stair
Old Jail and the outside stair, Excel23. The file page author line says Excel23. The downloaded JPEG has no Artist field. I did not open a user page that gives another name. The downloaded JPEG's DateTimeOriginal is 2012-08-07 01:17:42, with subseconds 50, which is 1:17 a.m. The file page summary says "2012-08-07" and does not print a clock. The JPEG adds the clock and the subseconds. Neither the file nor the file page summary prints a time zone. The frame is a daylight picture. A 1:17 a.m. clock and a sunlit wall are not the same hour. The JPEG's DateTime, the file-change clock, is 2012-08-07 17:47:16. The digitized clock is 2012-08-07 01:23:40. License: CC BY-SA 3.0. Credit is required. Share-alike applies. The Commons original is 3,767 by 2,430 pixels. Original file: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/94/OldJailStAug.jpg . The file on this page is 1,200 by 774. It was not upscaled. The description says "Old Jail." The subject is the stucco jail, the barred windows, and the outside stair. That stair is the stair in this frame. The frame does not print 167, and it does not print San Marco or San Marcos. The palm, the moss, the lamp, and the barrels are not the jail. Crop to the palm and you have left the stair. A wooden frame at the left edge is not the jail door. Crop to that frame and you have left the building. The August 7, 2012, wall is the one the description names as the Old Jail. Use that. The frame is 2012. It is not Mitchell's push, and it is not the Crawler.

How to use this

Start with the door that matches the week you are actually having. The Tampa Theatre box office is (813) 274-8286, at 711 N Franklin Street, Tampa, FL 33602. I did not save a tel: href. Witecki's direct line on the 2026 staff page is (813) 274-8287. Prance's line prints 8286 again. gargoyles@tampatheatre.org. Weekdays from 10 a.m. until 30 minutes after the last show. Weekends, 30 minutes before the first show, or at least 30 minutes, depending on which page you read. October 4 is a Sunday. I did not open that show list. Witecki's agreement is WUSF, October 24, 2023, 6:00 a.m. EDT. The 2026 title on the staff page is longer than the 2023 title. Caitlyn's door is a story she tells on that page. It is not her own encounter. I did not open the FOX 13 page.

The Henry B. Plant Museum is (813) 254-1891, at 401 W. Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33606. The site target is tel:8132541891. The 2018 Minaret page prints (813) 258-7302. Header hours and footer hours disagree on Saturday. They agree that Sunday is noon to 5 p.m. The header source also prints "Closed Today." October 4 is a Sunday, and it is not on the named holiday list. Huban's faster walk and the mirrors are Brown, October 25, 2018. She did not say she saw a figure. I did not open a ticket price.

The Florida Theatre box office is (904) 355-2787, at 128 East Forsyth Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202. Suite 300 is the admin line. Administration is (904) 355-5661. The footer prints 2787 as the fax and as the box office. I did not save a tel: href. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus a pre-show window. October 4 is a Sunday. I did not open that show list. Saisselin's two seats are WJCT, December 1, 2020, 4:51 p.m. EST. Sellers's wave is News4Jax, October 28, 2021. Cook-Richards and Floyd are reprints on the history page. I did not open the 1997 broadcast or the 2001 Daily Record.

The Olympia Theater is (786) 991-9008, at 174 East Flagler Street, Miami 33131-1130. Olympia Arts prints (305) 575-5057 for the same email. Van Gogh booking on that Arts page is (305) 833-9057. The canopy in the photo prints (646) 709-7276. I did not open Fever, so I do not have the exhibit's hours. The city page says the exhibit is current, and it also says new events are not being accepted until 2025, on a page copyrighted 2026. Piazza-Zuniga's light is the Herald, January 6, 2016, 6:45 p.m. The night is not dated. Her boss is not named.

The Vinoy is (727) 894-1000, at 501 5th Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. I did not save a tel: href. The spa and the golf club are different numbers, and the golf door is on Snell Isle, ZIP 33704. The site does not print a lobby hour. The footer year is 2025. Cishek's "My room is def haunted" is Hill, NBC 6, June 17, 2011. I did not open the tweet, Fish Stripes, USA Today, or the book Haunted Baseball. Rosie did not describe a ghost on the New Times page. The spoken name is The Vinoy.

The Old Jail is (904) 578-7657, at 167 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, FL 32084. The site target is tel:9045787657. E-ticket assistance is (800) 844-7601, with no tel: href saved. Gadsden prints San Marcos Avenue. Day tours 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. October 4 is a Sunday, and Sunday is not on the closed list. Mitchell's midnight window is on the 2022 page, not on the 2026 tours page. His push is that ClickOrlando story. The Crawler is a second story. He did not say the push was the Crawler.

If a guide adds a ghost this research did not find on the venue's site or in the news pieces cited below, enjoy it as a story and leave it there.

These six doors are not in one town. Compact binoculars and a Florida road atlas are the practical extras if you are driving between them.
